Flexibility and efficiency
in any application
Build your solution with the most
advanced UV treatment technology.
Industry-leading UV water treatment solutions for a full range of applications.
The unique ability of RefleX UV Chambers to produce specific wavelengths of UV while maximizing dosage, remarkably requires 75% less power consumption than
standard UV systems. Since every UV photon generated is reflected with maximum efficiency, RefleX UV systems can be smaller, using fewer bulbs and less mercury – and run cooler.
Take a closer look at how RefleX UV Chambers can be tailored to your application.
Water Disinfection
Designed for reliable, uniform dosage, RefleX UV Chambers can scale from systems ranging from 10 gallons per minute to millions of gallons per day. UV intensity monitors provide 100% dosage assurance – without the need for post-UV assays.
RefleX UV Chambers can provide water that meets or exceeds EPA and other regulatory requirements including
current Good Manufacturing Practices
(cGMPs) and USP monographs for Purified Water and Water-for-Injection - and offer an excellent option for new double pass RO designs.
RefleX UV Chamber technology is also compliant with NSF-Standard 61, meaning that all of the materials used in the unit that make contact with water are safe and will not leach harmful chemicals.

RefleX UV Chambers are a critical component in disinfection systems large or small.
TOC Reduction
Organic contamination in water can cause concerns due to health issues or performance problems related to process water. Compared to disinfection, TOCs require a significantly higher dose, typically a 10x higher dose, and potentially much higher for certain molecules.
RefleX UV technology can deliver this higher dose in a more compact and efficient package. The rule of thumb for
conventional UV systems is that you need 10x the disinfection size for TOCs, RefleX UV Chambers can generate the required dose at only 3x the disinfection size.
When UV is used for TOC reduction, it is generally in post-RO applications where the TOC levels are less than 100 ppb.

Advanced Oxidation
AOP is similar to TOC reduction, but used when TOC concentrations are too high for UV alone. In AOP treatment an oxidant is injected into the water flow prior to the UV unit. The UV then acts on the oxidant generating a large number of hydroxyl radicals. These radicals attack the bonds of the TOC, breaking it into smaller components. When the TOC is fully mineralized the residual is water, CO2 and any other elements that were part of the organic compounds
(these can be removed with DI technologies if necessary).
In general, the required dose to act on the oxidant is 90 mJ/cm2, or 3x the disinfection dose. Reflex UV Chambers bring all of the benefits of size and efficiency to provide the required dose for the AOP process.
AOP applications are growing in popularity due to the heightened interest in water reuse and ground water contamination.

Ozone Destruction
Ozone is often used to treat water or to maintain sanitization of water storage tanks. Ozone gas, however, is very reactive and can destroy seals, gaskets, and plastic plumbing downstream. The cost of ozone-resistant plumbing is high, so UV can be inserted to destroy the ozone.
Ozone might also not be desirable in the process the water will be used for.
